Specialist in Occupational Medicine
Dr David Shackleton is an independent specialist in occupational medicine working in a variety of industry sectors and is Medical Director of Occupational Health Solutions Ltd.
Having a background in hospital medicine, Dr Shackleton joined the Health and Safety Executive in 1990 as an Employment Medical Adviser before moving to British Rail in 1995 as a Senior Medical Adviser. In 1997 he started an independent consultancy in the North West and currently holds a variety of senior appointments including Group Medical Adviser to NSG Group (Pilkington) and Medical Adviser to AstraZeneca.
In 2004 Dr Shackleton was appointed Medical Adviser to the Rail Safety and Standards Board and has been involved in medical standard setting at UK and European level. He supports a number of OH businesses in the rail sector as their responsible doctor and is registered with ORR as a recognised doctor.
